示例一：Columbia University 查詢錄取狀態(tài)步驟
一、查郵件
在線提交申請后30天內會收到一個郵件給出查詢的網址，里面給出了 Application PIN Number，Application ID Number，并指出可以開始查詢的時間.

Application ID Number: C00xxxxxxx
二、查詢步驟
進入www.studentaffairs.columbia.edu/admissions/ 鏈接后點擊Application & Admission Process – First year Admission， 打開頁面后點擊右面Tracking your Application online，在 Application Tracking and Student Loan Entrance/Exit Interview下面填入Application ID和Date of Birth。進去后就可以看到申請材料是否收到的明細，包括什么時間收到了什么材料。
三、查詢錄取結果
1、到公布錄取結果之前會再收到一封相關郵件，如下所示：
…… You may request that a copy of your decision letter be mailed to you after you receive it online; further instructions will be available when you check your decision. We plan to post all decisions here on Thursday, December 10, 2009, after 5:00pm (Eastern Time). ……
2、查錄取結果請點擊郵件第一段的here，轉到鏈接https://app.applyyourself.com/-id=COL-U在右上角輸入郵件中收到的PIN 和 申請時創(chuàng)建的password。
3、進入頁面請點擊頁面下方的Your application decision is now available online， 這時會重新打開一個頁面顯示的就是錄取結果了。
示例二：University of Miami (FL)
首先需要激活學生賬號：
步驟1 查詢學生郵件，找到內容如下的郵件：
Dear ** ,
……To track the progress of your application, please log on to myUM (www.myum.miami.edu) to view pending/received items. You can use your UM ID to easily create a myUM account if you have not already created a myUM account. Your UM ID is: C******** ……
步驟2 登陸網址，www.myum.miami.edu輸入學生郵件里學校所給的UM ID和出生年月日。
步驟3 輸入UMID和生日后會顯示一個有每個學生CAN ID的頁面。
步驟4 需要輸入自己設定的New Password。
步驟5 頁面顯示要選擇一個密碼保護問題以增強密碼的保護性，防止其他人盜用密碼。”Create Security Question and Answer”。日后如果忘記密碼也可用這個密碼保護問題找回密碼。
步驟6 如果看到該頁面，說明你已成功激活學生賬戶。點擊Admissions下的View your Admissions Decision Letter 可以清楚地看到自己的錄取狀態(tài)。
