1. devote sth to (doing) sth 把時間(錢，精力等)獻(xiàn)給某事物。如：
They devoted a great deal of money to the improvement of the railway station. 他們花了一大筆錢來改善火車站的條件。
He devoted all his free time to playing the piano. 他把所有的業(yè)余的時間都用來彈鋼琴。
2. devote oneself to sb (doing sth)
(1) 獻(xiàn)身于或致力于(做)某事。如：
After he graduated he continued to devote himself to research. 畢業(yè)之后他繼續(xù)致力于研究工作。
He devoted himself to helping the poor. 他致力于幫助窮人。
(2) 專用于。如：
The newspaper devotes two pages to comics. 這份報紙用兩頁版面刊登連環(huán)漫畫。
(3) 喜歡，熱愛。如：
She devoted herself to tennis in her teens. 她在少女時代熱衷于網(wǎng)球。
3. be devoted to sb (doing sth)
(1) 致力于，獻(xiàn)身于。如：
The students are devoted to their studies. 學(xué)生們專心于學(xué)習(xí)。
(2) 專用于。如：
This dictionary is devoted to explaining word usage. 這本詞典是解釋詞的用法的。
(3) 喜歡，疼愛。如：
She is devoted to her children. 她疼愛她的孩子。
The couple were devoted to each other. 兩夫妻感情很好。
