A Lost Bag
丟失的皮包
No sooner had the bell rung than a middle-aged man, accompanied by our teacher, walked intothe classroom. All of us looked at one another. Questions were written on every face.
上課鈴響了，老師陪著一個(gè)中年男子走進(jìn)來(lái)。大家你看我，我看你，一臉的疑惑。
The man stepped onto the stage and said, "I lost my bag on my way to my office two days ago.As I was wondering where I could find it, I received a phonecall. It was a girl, who had picked upmy lost bag near a bus-stop and she had found my phone number in the bag.
中年男子走到臺(tái)上說(shuō)：“兩天前我在上班的路上丟了皮包，我正在想該到哪兒去找，有人打電話來(lái)。是一個(gè)女孩，她在車站附近揀了一個(gè)皮包，在包里找到電話號(hào)碼，所以給我打電話。
Then I realized I must have lost my bag when I was hurrying to catch the bus. The girl didn'tleave until I returned to the bus-stop and got back my bag. But she then left in such a hurrythat I had no time to ask her name. I have spent two days visiting the schools nearby. I wouldlike to thank her."
這時(shí)我才知道，我在匆忙趕公共汽車時(shí)丟了包。直到我趕到車站取回皮包她才離開(kāi)。她走得太匆忙，我甚至沒(méi)來(lái)得及問(wèn)她的姓名。這兩天我走遍了附近的學(xué)校，我要好好謝謝她。”
As he was speaking, our teacher walked to Guanlan Xu and asked her, "Why didn't you tell methe reason when you came to school late the day before yesterday?" At that time, Guanlan hadto look up. 當(dāng)他說(shuō)話時(shí)，老師走到許冠蘭身旁，問(wèn)道：“你前天遲到時(shí)為什么不告訴我原由?”這時(shí)冠蘭不得不抬起頭來(lái)。沒(méi)等她說(shuō)話，中年男子叫了起來(lái)，“是她，就是她把皮包還給我的!”所有的眼光都集中在冠蘭身上，目光中充滿敬佩。
