Earth Hour started in Sydney at 7:30 p. m. on March 31, 2007. More than 2.2million homes and business turned off their lights for an hour. A year later, on March 29, Earth Hour 2008 became a global activity. Meanwhile, 35 countries and 50 million people supported the event. Two years later, on March 28, 88 countries and over 2100 cities took part in the activity. What is more, what delight us is that Earth Hour first landed in China.
However, why do we hold the event? I think the purpose for it is to reduce the energy waste and to do some good for our climate. During the time, we can make full use of the hour to have dinner with our family in the candlelight. Furthermore it is a good idea to share stories with our friends. In my opinion, we can go out to have a walk and relax ourselves.
