Facilities
At the centre of the campus is the Atrium social area where students meet. This links the library, eating facilities, shops and the Students’ Union all under one roof. All campus facilities are a short walk from each other. We have accommodation on campus, all just an early-morning stroll away from the lecture theatres, labs and the library, and off-campus accommodation is a ten-minute bus journey away.

IT services
We offer a wide range of computing facilities, including web-based email and Internet access, to all students. You will have access to the University portal, an online gateway to key learning resources such as e-journals and Succeed, which is Stirling’s online learning environment. There are about 1,000 student workstations on campus. Most centrally-supported IT laboratories are open 24-hours a day and offer open access to students outside timetabled classes. The labs contain mostly PCs, with some Apple Mac facilities.

Studio
The Students’ Union main catering outlet, Studio, is located in the centre of the campus in the Union’s own Robbins Centre. Serving full breakfasts from 9.30am Monday to Friday and offering daily lunchtime specials, it’s also a great place to meet up with friends after class and enjoy a pizza.

Undergraduate Students
We prioritise accommodation for all new degree students who apply by the advertised deadline dates. Our rooms are almost all single occupancy and offer accommodation in either halls of residence or self-contained flats. Off-campus accommodation is located nearby in Stirling city centre and have easy access to the University bus routes.

Postgraduate Students
Postgraduate students can apply to stay in single study bedrooms with shared washing and toilet facilities. A limited number of en suite room is available on the basis of 38-week occupancy. Bed linen (bedding packs, the laundering of which is your responsibility), duvets and pillows are provided, although you need to bring your own towels. All kitchens have a cooker, fridge, freezer, electric kettle, microwave oven. However, you need to bring your own cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. Sockets providing access to the internet are available in all study bedrooms with the exception of Union Street, Bridge of Allan. Computers connected to these sockets have access to all of the computing resources, including filestore, e-mail and print facilities, and use of the Internet for restricted web browsing. The cost of this is included in your rent.

Students’ Union
The University of Stirling Students’ Union is the body representing and supporting all students. Students automatically become members of the Students’ Union when they join the University. They are formally represented by elected officers and they carry out the business of the Union on the behalf of all students. This includes a dedicated Postgraduate Officer who is there to ensure the views of Postgraduate students are central to all that the Union does. Beyond the representative role, the Union seeks to ‘Make Students’ Live Better’ through its clubs and societies and Sports Union. With over 90 sports and social clubs to choose from, there is something for everyone. The Union is also home to a range of outlets including Studio, which regularly hosts events and Underground, the on-campus Starbucks outlet.

Religion
The multi-faith Chaplaincy/Faith Centre organises programmes of worship, discussion and social events. It provides for all faiths and can put you in touch with the nearest representatives of your faith group. The Chaplaincy also supports Friends International Stirling linking international students with local host families. We have a dedicated prayer room for Muslim students. All our chaplains are part-time.
