Estimated course fees for international students commencing in 2016 and 2017
The fees below provide an estimate of the course tuition fees for international students commencing an undergraduate course in semester one 2016 or semester one 2017. As far as possible, the fees provided in this table show the typical tuition fees that a student will pay for the first year of the course. As a guide, a typical total course fee is also shown.
For most courses the typical tuition fees are based on subject enrolments normally undertaken by students in the course, and reflect the discipline band of the subjects comprising the degree. For some degrees, a typical fee range is shown due to the wide range of variables that may affect the course structure and subjects taken.
Please note that:
· The fees provided are indicative only and may vary depending on the number of subjects undertaken, their credit point value and the discipline band for each subject undertaken during your enrolment.
· The typical course fee shown provides an estimate of the tuition fees for the first year of the course in 2016 or 2017. This estimate assumes a full-time study load, commencing semester one.
· The typical total course fee shown provides an estimate of the tuition fees for the whole course. This estimate is based on typical subject enrolments in each year of the course, with indexation of the 2016 international undergraduate subject fees at five per cent per annum for every additional year of study after 2016 (for students commencing in 2016), and indexation of the 2017 international undergraduate subject fees at five per cent per annum for every additional year of study after 2017 (for students commencing in 2017). The amount shown assumes students complete no more than the course duration indicated.

Fee tables and calculations
Every undergraduate subject has a study load and has been assigned to one of the discipline fee bands shown in the table below (so has a subject fee). Most undergraduate courses require students to enrol in subjects from more than one discipline fee band for a total study load across all subjects of 100 credit points per year.
subject study load (as fraction) x subject fee ($ per study load) = cost of subject
The cost of your course will be the total of the tuition fees for each subject in which you enrol, with the cost of each subject determined by its discipline fee band and its study load.
The Handbook lists all the subjects you can take in your course and their corresponding subject codes.
International undergraduate subject fees
Undergraduate subjects are grouped into discipline fee bands. These fee bands are determined by the content of the subject, not the course, nor the faculty or school that teaches it. You will be charged the sum of the fees for all subjects in which you enrol. Most undergraduate courses require students to enrol in subjects from more than one discipline fee band for a total study load across all subjects of 100 credit points (1 EFTSL) per year.
To date fees have been set for 2016 and these are shown in the tables below. The subject fees in the tables form the basis for calculating your tuition fees but do not necessarily represent the fees for a typical enrolment. The fees are for each 100 credit points of study in that discipline fee band. You can use the amounts to work out your tuition fees for each year.
Working it out - an example fee calculation
Wei is an international student who enrols in a Bachelor of Science in 2017, commencing in Semester 1. She enrols in 8 subjects for a total of 100 credit points (1 EFTSL), or a standard full-time study load for one year of study:
· 2 Commerce subjects (12.5 credit points each)
· 2 Maths subjects (12.5 credit points each)
· 4 Science subjects (12.5 credit points each)
In this example, the subject fees in 2017 are: $39,264/EFTSL for Commerce; $37,440/EFSTL for Mathematics; $39,680/EFTSL for Science.
Wei’s tuition fees for 2017 are calculated as:

Costs associated with my course
Depending on your course there may be textbooks and other equipment that is required as part of your study. You may also need to buy special items such as art materials or a lab coat.

Payments and refunds
When is payment due?
You'll need to pay a minimum deposit payment of $AUD 10,000 by the date specified in your offer letter to confirm acceptance of your offer.
Once you have enrolled, an invoice for the balance of your tuition fees for the semester (or study period) will be available, and you'll be required to pay by the date specified on the invoice.
Further invoices will be available online for each subsequent semester (or study period) and you will need to pay by the date specified on each invoice.
Note:
· It is your responsibility to pay your fees and complete your enrolment by the published date; otherwise a late fee will be levied.
· If your fees remain unpaid, your enrolment will be cancelled and you will then need to reapply for admission to the course. You will remain liable for any outstanding debt. The University is required to advise the Department of Immigration and Border Protection of any cancellation of enrolment. This may lead to the cancellation of your student visa.
Payment options
You have two payment options: standard instalment or dual instalment. Your invoice will be available on line via your student portal as soon as you enrol in your subjects. All instalment options require at least one payment in advance of the commencement of classes.
