首先來看看個人陳述的書寫格式。
1、標(biāo)題
通常來說，個人陳述的標(biāo)題可以直接用Personal Statement 或者Statement of Purpose，請把標(biāo)題寫在正文之前或者做在頁眉頁腳里面。因為PS通常屬于學(xué)校要求提交的文書類型之一，如果自己取題可能和其他類型的文書搞混，所以一般建議不要為了出彩而擅自更改題目;外國人相對也比較喜歡規(guī)范化和標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化的格式，不然也就不會出現(xiàn)論文的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化格式，比如APA了。
2、頁眉與頁腳
個人陳述中可以添加頁眉和頁腳，你可以寫下你的姓名，申請學(xué)?；蛏暾垖I(yè)等等信息，比如：University of XXX , Personal Statement。請注意，內(nèi)容要精簡，這才不會顯得冗雜，便于查閱;其實面對這么多份的申請文書，招生委員會的老師也難免頭疼和疲倦，這跟高考語文閱卷一樣，所以格式的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)、一目了然就會給他們留下不錯的印象。
3、正文布局
根據(jù)國外寫作的習(xí)慣，個人陳述的正文一般頂格寫，選擇兩端對齊的排版方式(這樣看上去比較舒服些，但好多外國學(xué)生習(xí)慣左對齊，這也是可接受的)，段落與段落之間可以空一行，便于查看。
4、字體及間距
個人陳述通常在Microsoft Word中 編寫，正文可以使用Times New Roman 或者Arial 的十二號字體，單倍行距。當(dāng)然，必須留心個別學(xué)校個別院系可能會有比較細致的要求，自己需要多加留意，從而做出相應(yīng)的調(diào)整。
5、字數(shù)
一般來說，學(xué)校對個人陳述的字數(shù)要求控制在1,000字左右，當(dāng)然，一般是800-900字之間。就差不多是兩頁的樣子。不過有些學(xué)校會對留學(xué)文書有明確的字數(shù)要求，如果明確要求你的PS在500字左右，這個時候你就只能盡力刪字數(shù)了。在國外，要逐漸適應(yīng)“標(biāo)準(zhǔn)就是標(biāo)準(zhǔn)”，沒有討價還價的余地。
6、行數(shù)
