申請原因：
文書的最開始當(dāng)然是要交代自己的背景啦！
要讓admission看一眼就知道你遞交申請的原因是啥，簡單直接的表達(dá)會讓你的application在多如牛毛的personal statement里成為一股清流，還省去大學(xué)招生辦不少過濾廢話的時間！
短短的一段或兩段里，小伙伴們應(yīng)重點解決以下兩個問題：
為什么申請這個科系：何時開始對這個科目感興趣？你是否有逐漸加深對這個科目的了解？
你如何保持對這個科目的興趣？你對這個科目的興趣是否影響了你的未來甚至職業(yè)規(guī)劃？你為什么想要在大學(xué)階段選修這門科目？為什么選擇來美國求學(xué)：過去有無接觸英式教育？如有，何時開始、為什么、是否對你的大學(xué)申請選擇有直接影響？如無，為什么選擇美國大學(xué)本科？
個人努力：
然后，就是小伙伴們向大學(xué)證明自己真的輾轉(zhuǎn)反側(cè)、茶飯不思、懸梁刺股、炒雞炒雞想讀這個系的好時候啦！

課余你是如何儲備相關(guān)知識的=讀過的書、看過的電影、聽過的講座、follow過的節(jié)目？
平常有沒有多看書多讀報？
近期你申請科目的領(lǐng)域里有沒有發(fā)生什么大事件？你是否讀過相關(guān)的報道分析？這些事件如何啟發(fā)了你？
經(jīng)歷篇：（在你到目前的所有經(jīng)歷里找和報的科系關(guān)聯(lián)度最高噠?。┠闶欠駞⒓舆^任何活動或競賽？這些活動與你申請的學(xué)科有無直接關(guān)系？如有，你收獲了什么？如無，這個活動對你有什么特殊意義/對你起到了怎樣的幫助值得你寫進(jìn)文書？
你是否有過任何工作或社會活動經(jīng)驗（包括班干部、學(xué)校圖書管理員啥的）？是有償或志愿？如有償，你工作的目的與對這個科目的興趣有關(guān)嗎？如無償，你認(rèn)為自己從中獲得最大的收獲是什么？是否有任何個人興趣愛好或特殊才能？這些特長對自己/未來對大學(xué)有什么幫助？
國際生：你認(rèn)為自己有足夠的英語水平應(yīng)對美國的大學(xué)課程嗎？你過去有完成過任何純英教學(xué)的課程嗎？有無任何證據(jù)能顯示你具備良好的適應(yīng)與交流能力（在美國高中參加辯論隊會是個炒雞好的例子?。?？
附加信息：
還有一些關(guān)于自己的額外信息，同學(xué)們千萬記得提供哦！
deferredentry：有g(shù)ap year的計劃嗎？如有，打算利用這一年完成什么事情？（記得要證明自己并沒有荒廢青春哦）已經(jīng)過了gapyear？過去一年都做了什么事情/為自己的大學(xué)生活做了什么準(zhǔn)備？
AS成績不太理想是否有任何非人為不可控因素的干擾？是否有任何證據(jù)能說服大學(xué)你的A2預(yù)估成績妥妥的？
國際學(xué)生這一條真不是歧視。但我們要用自己棒棒噠的英語表述證明自己一點都不比本地學(xué)生弱！分分鐘寫作水平還高過美國同學(xué)好嗎！

內(nèi)容冗雜，華而不實
國內(nèi)文章大多篇幅過長，例如高考作文，一般都需要大量篇幅來進(jìn)行描述。以至于很多學(xué)生在寫作留學(xué)文書時很容易犯錯誤，采用大量篇幅和華麗詞藻來進(jìn)行修飾，導(dǎo)致內(nèi)容冗長，華而不實。
夸夸其談，空話連篇
招生官之所以會看PS，一般就是想通過文書來直接解學(xué)生，對學(xué)生進(jìn)行快速定位。但是很多學(xué)生在留學(xué)文書寫作時往往高談闊論，例如什么報效祖國偉大理想啊，為社會為人民服務(wù)等，不注重實際，空話連篇，這并不是招生官所愿意看到。
弄虛作假，惡意抄襲
這是最為惡劣行為，有些學(xué)生在寫作留學(xué)文書時過分夸大自己，不切實際，在對于自己成就描述上弄虛作假，寫一些原本不存在事，例如參加過什么大型比賽，拿過什么獎項，有過什么經(jīng)歷等。
還有就是抄襲別人文書，不結(jié)合自身實際情況，搞一些花里胡哨東西。
主次不分，邏輯混亂
很多學(xué)生因為英文水平問題，往往在寫作文書上抓不清主次，邏輯混亂，這樣文書估計招生官連看下去心都沒有吧。
所以，在寫作時，無論是你英文水平不達(dá)標(biāo)，還是英文水平很高，在寫完之后也要請專業(yè)人士或者有經(jīng)驗人給把把關(guān)，修改修改。
寫作不規(guī)范，用詞不當(dāng)
PS是很正規(guī)文書，不要用些口語化詞語（kinda， sort of， wanna， it＇s， can＇t， shouldn＇t），最好讓英語好人幫你改改。作為一個留學(xué)生，能把PS寫通順流暢絕對是加分項。

’For Knowledge Itself Is Power’. This is one of my favorite precepts and at this point in my life when I am about to complete my graduation and my future spreads in front of me like a dream， this adage has never influenced my life more than this before.
Knowledge and proper training are essential to succeed in today＇s highly competitive world. The best place where I can achieve this is in the United States of America - the undisputed leader in developing new products and processes. Not only is America the birthplace of my chosen field of study， it has also nurtured it for it＇s full growth and continuous development. To achieve my goals， I want to pursue a Master＇s program in Computer Science. It is the ideal way for me to gain the knowledge and skills to stand tall as a computer professional.

I take a keen interest in Networking and Database Management Systems. As a part of my final year curriculum， I am working on a project with one of the India＇s finest web-site designing companies - MicroGiga Info. Sys. Ltd. The aim of the project is to create a web-site. The web-site， called ＂Jobs4All＂， aims to provide the user with a job depending upon his qualifications. Various database concepts＇， programming scripts and the maintenance of a server are some of the features included in our web-site. Some of the products and tools used are ASP scripts， Java scripts， Microsoft Access ＇97， Personal Web Server， etc. I am also interested in System Programming. For this very reason， I have selected Compiler Construction as the elective subject for my final year.
There is truly no end to learning， as this has become a world where a constant addition to abilities is the key to growth in a dynamic world. I am fortunate to belong to a family that places a high value of education. I have been given all the encouragement and facility to develop my talents and interests. I have completed several courses in public speaking and leadership training. Sports， music and reading also fill my life. I was also one of the organizer＇s for the Open Software competition in TECHNOMANIA ＇98， which is an inter-college festival annually， organized annually by my college. I am also an active participant in various events held in other institutes.
I seek to fulfill my goals in an environment that encourages creativity and motivation. I feel confident that the staff and facilities in your institute will provide me with such an environment. In conclusion I would like to say that the knowledge gained from 4 years of engineering has provided me with a solid foundation.
