本單元的中心話題是The Olympics,而第29界奧運會去年在北京舉行,學生對奧運會很感興趣,這就為學好本課提供了保障。本課是本單元的第一課時,題目是“更高,更快,更強”,既是奧林匹克的口號,也是國際奧委會對所有參與奧林匹克運動的人們的號召,號召他們本著奧林匹克的精神奮力向上。本課課文圍繞著“奧運會的起源,發(fā)展以及奧運選手”而展開的。學生通過本課學習掌握一些與奧運會有關的單詞、短語和句型。使學生更加了解有關奧運會的常識,培養(yǎng)他們?yōu)閲鵂幑獾膼蹏楦?;在學習中發(fā)揚“更快、更高、更強”的奧運精神。
根據(jù)《英語課程標準》的要求、教材特點以及我校九年級學生的實際情況,我將本課時的教學目標及重難點確定如下:
知識與技能:
1、學習并掌握有關奧運的詞匯及短語:modern, gold, record, event, twentieth, win a gold medal. ancient, medal, shooting, athlete, silver, bronze, sprint.
2、能聽懂、讀懂有關奧運話題的語段。
3、能夠談論奧運會的起源、運動項目及自己喜歡的運動員。
過程與方法:
1、利用北京奧運會主題歌及精彩的奧運圖片導入新課,創(chuàng)設情境,激發(fā)學生興趣。
2、通過分組學習,使學生加深對課文的理解程度,培養(yǎng)學生自主學習、合作探究的能力。
3、通過學習中外著名運動員的經(jīng)歷,培養(yǎng)學生的競爭意識。
情感態(tài)度與價值觀:
在學習中,敢于用英語來表達自己的'看法,培養(yǎng)學習英語的興趣和學好英語
的勇氣,樂意了解異地文化。通過了解著名的奧運人物,增強為國爭光和努力、勤奮、拼搏的意識,培養(yǎng)愛國情感,發(fā)揚自強不息的精神,為實現(xiàn)自己的理想而奮斗。
教學重點和難點:

二、教學方法:
為了體現(xiàn)《英語課程標準》的理念,更好地突出重點、突破難點。本節(jié)課主要采用任務型教學方法(Task-based Language Teaching),以三個任務為核心,引導學生在做和玩的過程中學習英語,體驗成功,感受英語學習的樂趣,培養(yǎng)學生的團隊意識,提高學生的主動性和參與性,使學生成為課堂的真正主人。同時、采用多媒體輔助教學,更好地激發(fā)學生的學習興趣。通過歌曲、圖片等為學生創(chuàng)設生動活潑的語言環(huán)境,激發(fā)他們學習的欲望。
三、學法指導:
美國著名心理學家布魯納說過:“對學生的最好刺激乃是對所學教材的興趣。”在設計本節(jié)課時我適當整合了部分內容,以任務為核心、以學生為主體,倡導自主學習、合作學習,在課堂教學中引導學生進行小組討論、猜測游戲、競賽等與他人合作,鼓勵學生通過感知、體驗、實踐、參與與實踐等方式,積極思考,實現(xiàn)任務的目標,感受成功的喜悅。
四、教學過程:
本節(jié)課以任務型語言教學為原則,設計了三個主要任務:一個是The history of the Olympics.第二個是Olympic sports.第三個是Your favourite Olympic ath- lete.
Task One:The history of the Olympics.
在這個任務中,首先播放由劉歡、莎拉·布萊曼演唱的北京奧運主題歌《我和你》,學生在老師的帶領下隨著歌聲的旋律,能自然地聯(lián)想到奧運場景,通過三個問題,引出本節(jié)課的課題——Higher, Faster, Stronger、歌曲引入營造了熱烈的課堂氣氛,讓學生在不經(jīng)意中積極發(fā)言、探討問題,為后續(xù)活動打下基礎。緊
接著分組討論Think about it中的問題,然后引導學生欣賞一組奧運會的圖片并學習本課的生詞和短語,再聽錄音,回答關于奧運會起源的問題,將孤立的單詞和圖片相結合,便于學生接受,并創(chuàng)設問題情境,引發(fā)學生認知需要。最后各小組作出匯報。整個任務由易到難,層層深入,充分調動學生的眼、耳、口、手、腦等各個器官,學生在愉快的氛圍中鍛煉了聽和說的能力。
Task two: Olympic sports.
首先帶領學生欣賞奧運比賽的精彩圖片,把Task One和Task two連接起來。然后分組討論奧運項目,再進行競賽,說出項目最多的小組獲勝,學生對于體育項目有著濃厚的興趣,表現(xiàn)欲很強,在討論和競賽時,不但能踴躍地說出圖片中的運動項目,而且還能說出圖片中沒有的項目。最后做猜測游戲,教師先做一個項目的示范,學生猜測名稱,再由學生輪流做動作,其余學生猜。給學生提供展示才能的舞臺,把整個課堂推向高潮,學生感受到學習英語的樂趣,從而有效地培養(yǎng)他們的語言運用能力。
Task three: Your favourite Olympic athlete.
為了避免對課文內容的單純講解,充分培養(yǎng)學生自主學習的能力,檢查學生個體的閱讀能力,在這個任務開始時,讓學生帶著問題自己默讀課文并回答,然后引導他們分小組談論自己最喜歡的奧運明星,最后通過調查找出哪些同學喜歡的奧運明星相同。同學間加強了了解,增進了友誼。,
在課堂小節(jié)時,先播放全文錄音,讓學生從整體上回顧本課。之后學生自己說出奧運會的起源、項目以及奧運明星,教師點評補充,布置作業(yè),加深學生對課文內容的理解,達到鞏固提高的目的。
