Xi’an Incident
The film Xi’an Incident is so named for the same incident. This was a tremendous historical incident in Chinese history, and the film praises the patriotism of General Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng, and the great victory of the national unified front against Japanese aggression. It successfully portrays several famous historical figures such as Chiang Kai-shek, Zhang Xueliang, and Yang Hucheng—faces of prominent historical importance. This film won the Best Director, Best Supporting Male Actor, and Best Makeup Prizes of the second Golden Rooster Award for Chinese Film in 1982.
