Well... *這是種很方便的表達(dá)方式。以下三種情況都可以用。
(1)一時(shí)回答不了或說不上來時(shí)?！班拧?、“唉……”、“這個(gè)嘛……”、“話是不錯(cuò)，可……”。
(2)相當(dāng)吃驚時(shí)?！鞍パ?！”、“什么？”、“啊！”。
(3)改變話題繼續(xù)交談時(shí)。“那么……”、“可是……”、“后來……”。

Let me see. *see “考慮”、“盤算”、“想”，口語中常用來表示無法立刻答復(fù)，一時(shí)想不出回答的話，或想說點(diǎn)什么。

我的意思是……
I mean... *“就是說”、“不，其實(shí)我是說……”，用于會話中補(bǔ)充或糾正自己的發(fā)言時(shí)。

I'm a friend of John's... I mean, Mr. Sheehan.（我是約翰的朋友，我是說我是希恩先生的朋友。）*當(dāng)說話的人是希恩先生的朋友時(shí)。
