My Nature-loving Nephew
Qiang Qiang ， my five-year-old nephew， is an ardent lover of nature ——grass， flowers， trees and plants.
One spring day， on his way to kindergarten， he picked up a bean from the ground. Holding it carefully in his hand， he declared that he would raise it. As soon as he returned home that afternoon， he ran to his flower pot and planted it.
From then on， the first thing he did every morning was to water his bean. As it began to grow， he would stand watching it for long stretches of time. When the plant finally sprouted a bean， his eyes shone as if the bean were his own child. Then he announced to our family，“I am going to grow enough beans for all of us， so you didn't need to buy them from the market.”
Qiang Qiang wants to work in a natural preserve when he grows up， but on the condition that it be close to his home so that he can eat at home.
