    賞析：對英譯漢來說，譯者在表達階段需要處理的兩個主要問題是：調(diào)整結構與精心選擇詞語。對這兩個問題的處理好壞直接影響譯文的質量。請看上面的譯例：在結構上，譯者將"brilliant"放后譯，而將"of the beautiful and accomplished Mrs.Rawdon Crawley's admirable personifications"提前處理；在選詞上，"account"譯成“花絮”，堪稱精當，"brilliant"譯為“天花亂墜”，符合原作者感情上的傾向性，這樣處理，譯文的質量便高多了。
