     Futures contracts, such as stock index futures, that settle for cash, not involving the delivery of the underlying.

     The amount available in cash upon cancellation of an insurance policy, usually a whole life policy, before it becomes payable upon death or maturity. Also called cash value or surrender value.
    是指投保人中途放棄購(gòu)買人壽保單時(shí),可從保險(xiǎn)公司取回的現(xiàn)金價(jià)值部分,其數(shù)額相對(duì)于投??偨痤~要小,是人壽保險(xiǎn)用語(yǔ)。

     The amount available in cash upon surrender of a policy before it becomes payable upon death or maturity.
    取消因死亡或到期而受益的保單,通常是終身壽險(xiǎn),所得到的可用現(xiàn)金。也叫保單的退保價(jià)值或發(fā)還的保險(xiǎn)退保價(jià)值。

     A method of converting options into stock that requires no initial cash payment to cover the strike price.

     A technique for calculating the return on an investment for which there is no secondary market.

     When an owner renegotiates or negotiates a new mortgage and the proceeds of the new financing exceed the money required to pay out the old mortgage and any other costs, liens or expenses, leaving money for the borrower.

     The process of taking out of a new mortgage at an amount that exceeds the existing balance on the current mortgage in order to refinance the original mortgage and receive additional cash for other use.

     catastrophe bond 巨災(zāi)債券
     A high-yield debt instrument that is usually insurance linked and meant to raise money in case of a catastrophe such as a hurricane or earthquake. It has a special condition that states that if the issuer (insurance or reinsurance company) suffers a loss from a particular predefined catastrophe, then the issuer's obligation to pay interest and/or repay the principal is either deferred or completely forgiven. Risk-based securities that pay high interest rates and provide insurance companies with a form of reinsurance to pay losses from a catastrophe.
