商務(wù)英語綜合輔導(dǎo):自動(dòng)取款機(jī)1

字號(hào):

Helen: Hello, this is Real English from BBC Learning English, I’m Helen.
    Zo: 還有我,劉佳。歡迎收聽地道英語。
Helen: In Real English, we look at words and phrases that you might not find in your dictionary.
    Zo: 英語也和中文一樣,會(huì)不斷產(chǎn)生一些新用法,要想時(shí)刻的跟上潮流,說一口流行地道的英語,的方法,就是和我們的地道英語一起來學(xué)習(xí)這些新鮮詞匯和習(xí)慣表達(dá)。
Helen: There’s no better way, Zo.
Zo: So what have you got for us today Helen?
Helen: Today’s a little bit different because we have two phrases to describe the same thing.
Zo: Sounds interesting. What is it?
Helen: Well, today’s first word is cashpoint. C.A.S.H.P.O.I.N.T.
    Zo: 是把cash和point放在一起了嗎?
Helen: Exactly – cash and point.
    Zo: 那什么是a cashpoint?
Helen: A cashpoint is a machine outside or near a bank which allows you to take money from your account.
    Zo: 哦,明白了。A cashpoint 就是一臺(tái)自動(dòng)取款機(jī)。
Helen: Exactly, put your card in, enter your secret number, and you can take out money.

A: Oh, I haven’t got any money on me.
B: Don’t worry. We can go to a cashpoint. There are lots of cashpoints on the High Street.
Zo: Now Helen, didn’t you say that we had two phrases today?
Helen: Well remembered, Zo. In the UK we have another slang name for a cashpoint. We call it a hole in the wall. Hole. In. The. Wall.
Zo: Hole in the wall. 墻里的一個(gè)洞?這也說的是自動(dòng)取款機(jī)嗎?
Helen: Yes, but many people call a cashpoint a hole in the wall because they are usually built into the outer wall of a bank.
    Zo: 好了,讓我們來復(fù)習(xí)一下,自動(dòng)取款機(jī)在英語里有兩個(gè)表達(dá),一個(gè)是cashpoint,或者說hole in the wall.
Helen: Well, it’s time to go. See you next time for more Real English…
    Zo: See you next time.
