Tom Maher, former head coach of the New Zealand National team, has been named as the new head coach of China’s women’s basketball team. Maher will be the first foreign coach to lead the women’s team. The 52-year-old Maher guided the Australian national team to the bronze medal in the 1996 Olympics and the silver in 2000.
