中考英語詞匯：answer　for與answerto

1. answer for 對……負責(zé)，對……承擔(dān)責(zé)任，保證，代表
    I will answer for it (him). 我愿對它(他)負責(zé)。
    One day you’ll have to answer for what you’ve done. 有一天你會對你今天的所作所為承擔(dān)責(zé)任的。
    I agree but I can’t answer for my friends. 我同意，但我不能代表我的朋友也同意。
    注：該短語通常用于將來時態(tài)或含有情態(tài)動詞的句子，其后可接名詞或代詞，一般不接 that 從句，若要接這類從句，則應(yīng)先接形式賓語 it。如：
    I can’t answer for his honesty. ＝ I can’t answer for it that he is honest. 我不能保證他是誠實的。
    2. in answer to 作為對……的回答，響應(yīng)……的請求
    In answer to his question, she shook her head. 對于他的問題，她以搖頭作答。
