EC says Portugal‘s GDP to increase 0.4% in 2005

Brussels， Belgium， 21 Nov – The European Commission has lowered its forecast for the growth of the Portuguese economy in 2005.比利時，布魯塞爾，11月21日 – 歐盟委員會已經降低了對葡萄牙2005年經濟增長量的預測。
According to forecasts by the EC issued Friday， Portuguese GDP will increase by just 0.4% this year， 0.8% in 2006 and 1.2% in 2007.根據歐盟委員會上周五作出的預測，葡萄牙今年的國內生產總值將增長0.4%，2006年增長0.8%，2007年增長1.2%.
The new figures place Portugal ahead of only Malta among the 25 countries in the European Union.在歐盟25個成員國中，葡萄牙的增長率僅高于馬耳他。
The previous EC forecast issued in April this year estimated Portugal‘s GDP growth at 1.1%.今年4月，歐盟委員會曾預測葡萄牙的國內生產總值將增長1.1%.
The figure from the EC slightly less pessimistic than that issued by the Bank of Portugal which cut its GDP growth forecast for 2005 from 0.5% to 0.3%.歐盟委員會的新數(shù)字比葡萄牙銀行的預測數(shù)字還樂觀一些，后者將葡萄牙2005年預計GDP增長量由0.5%減至0.3%.
