Mari Lwyd是冬至?xí)r威爾士的古老圣誕節(jié)的習(xí)俗,是在圣誕節(jié)呈現(xiàn)之前,異教節(jié)日的變相延續(xù)。Mari Lwyd在英語(yǔ)中意為“灰色的母驢”這一習(xí)慣的最初形式是那樣的:一匹馬和它的派對(duì)來(lái)到一戶人家或者酒吧前,唱幾首引見(jiàn)的詩(shī)詞,接下來(lái)是一場(chǎng)斗智賽,屋內(nèi)的人和屋外的Mari派對(duì)唱著歌互相挑戰(zhàn)對(duì)方,辱罵對(duì)方。直到雙方詞窮才盡,戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)進(jìn)入收尾階段,Mari派對(duì)再唱著另外一首歌走進(jìn)屋去。在上一場(chǎng)景中,馬的造型是由系在一根木棒上馬頭顱組成,馬的操控著被布遮蓋住,有時(shí),還有特殊的裝置,沒(méi)去外國(guó)疑問(wèn)移動(dòng)馬的下巴。
