微軟亞洲研究院是微軟公司在美國(guó)本土之外的基礎(chǔ)科研機(jī)構(gòu)，被美國(guó)技術(shù)雜志MIT 《Technology Review》譽(yù)為“世界上最火的計(jì)算機(jī)實(shí)驗(yàn)室”。 自1998年成立以來，啟動(dòng)了面向亞太區(qū)高校博士生、碩士生和優(yōu)秀本科生的“明日之星”實(shí)習(xí)生項(xiàng)目。該項(xiàng)目由微軟亞洲研究院和國(guó)內(nèi)外高校共同執(zhí)行，旨在培養(yǎng)高素質(zhì)的計(jì)算機(jī)基礎(chǔ)研究人才。實(shí)習(xí)生進(jìn)入微軟亞洲研究院后深入到每個(gè)研究小組進(jìn)行為期三個(gè)月或更長(zhǎng)時(shí)間的實(shí)習(xí)。截止至2011年9月，已有4000名來自亞太區(qū)高校的學(xué)生到微軟亞洲研究院實(shí)習(xí)，平均每年有400個(gè)實(shí)習(xí)機(jī)會(huì)開放給所有的學(xué)生。

Group Overview
Microsoft Research Asia researchers have collaborated with product groups over the years to ship over 200 innovations in Microsoft products. The Innovation Engineering team supports these technology transfers, and fosters new product incubation, by bringing together software design engineers, user experience experts, program managers, business strategists and others to help turn ideas into reality.
Roles & Responsibilities
The interns will be working in a development role with Weipeng Liu, Mu Li, and Matt Scott on a cutting-edge linguistic software application that spans natural language processing and beautiful client-side user experiences. The focus of the internship is on modern C software programming in developing the Windows® client, which may include advanced user interface development and / or high performance text processing engine development.
Required Qualifications:
1． BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science or any related technical field and possess the following skills;
2． Win32 GUI programming (e.g. familiar with Message Loop, GDI, etc.)
3． Has solid C background; should be familiar with STL and TR1 libraries. (Knowing Boost libraries would be a big plus)
4． Being familiar with low-level memory operations with C/C is a plus
5． Has strong ability to learn and investigate new approaches.
6． Understands the importance of clean, readable and maintainable code.
7． Can commit at least 6 months internship, can get your advisors approval.
