微軟亞洲研究院是微軟公司在美國(guó)本土之外的基礎(chǔ)科研機(jī)構(gòu)，被美國(guó)技術(shù)雜志MIT 《Technology Review》譽(yù)為“世界上最火的計(jì)算機(jī)實(shí)驗(yàn)室”。 自1998年成立以來(lái)，啟動(dòng)了面向亞太區(qū)高校博士生、碩士生和優(yōu)秀本科生的“明日之星”實(shí)習(xí)生項(xiàng)目。該項(xiàng)目由微軟亞洲研究院和國(guó)內(nèi)外高校共同執(zhí)行，旨在培養(yǎng)高素質(zhì)的計(jì)算機(jī)基礎(chǔ)研究人才。實(shí)習(xí)生進(jìn)入微軟亞洲研究院后深入到每個(gè)研究小組進(jìn)行為期三個(gè)月或更長(zhǎng)時(shí)間的實(shí)習(xí)。截止至2010年10月，已有3500名來(lái)自亞太區(qū)高校的學(xué)生到微軟亞洲研究院實(shí)習(xí)，平均每年有400個(gè)實(shí)習(xí)機(jī)會(huì)開放給所有的學(xué)生。

Position: Full-time Intern
Group: Internet Advertising Team, Web Search and Mining Group

Group Overview
Internet Advertising Team is a newly established team in Web Search and Mining Group, dedicated to working on ad related research projects. In particular, we focus on finding principled ways to understand and target Internet users, interact and engage with advertisers, develop optimal mechanisms for ad selection and ranking, designing innovative ways of ad presentation, and mine advertising data for business intelligence.
Roles & Responsibilities
The interns will be working with the mentors, on ads click predictions, advertiser modeling, auction mechanisms, and user behavior analysis. The interns will be required to conduct programming, simulation, and experiment for various research projects, and/or conduct mathematical modeling of algorithms and solve new problems. The interns will get systematic training on implementing engineering projects and/or on doing research projects.
Required Qualifications:
1.MS/PhD candidates in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or any related technical fields;
2.Good coding skills in C/C /C#/SQL or have related project experience;
3.Good mathematics background in linear algebra, optimization, probability, and statistics;
4.Good knowledge base in machine learning, data mining, and information retrieval;
5.Good English skills in reading, writing, and speaking;
6.Good communication skills and excellent teamwork spirit;
7.Can commit at least 6 months internship, can get your advisor’s approval.
