托福(toefl)語法技巧：both

both意為one and the other（一個和另一個，兩者都）。
    它后面跟動詞的復(fù)數(shù)形式。
    both可單獨使用，后面也可跟名詞：
    Both（doors）were open．
    兩個（門）都開著。 　　或后面跟（of）+the/these/those或所有格形式：
    both（of）the wheels兩個車輪都……
    both（of）your wheels你的兩個車輪都……
    或后面跟of+us/you/them：
    Both of us knew him．
    我們倆都認識他。 　　人稱代詞+both也是可以的：
    We both knew him．
    （譯文同上。） 　　both…and…可以用于強調(diào)兩個形容詞、名詞、動詞等的組合：
    It was both cold and wet．
    又寒冷又潮濕。 　　He is both an actor and a director．
    他既是演員又是導(dǎo)演?！　e both acts and directs．
    他又當演員，又當導(dǎo)演。
