At age of 83, Granddad went to hospital for the first time. “What is this?” he asked as he held up the bell cord they had fastened to his pillow.
爺爺在83歲的時(shí)候,第一次住進(jìn)了醫(yī)院?!斑@是干什么用的?”他抓起系在枕頭旁邊的呼叫鈴的繩子問(wèn)道。
“That’s the bell, Granddad.” I replied.
“那是拉鈴用的,爺爺?!蔽一卮鹫f(shuō)。
He pulled it several times, then remarked, “I don’t hear it ringing.”
他拉了幾下問(wèn):“我怎么聽(tīng)不到鈴響呀?”
“Oh, it doesn’t ring,” I explained. “It turns on a light in the hall for the nurse.”
“哦,不是它響,”我解釋道,“你一拉這根繩子,護(hù)士值班室的燈就亮了?!?BR> “Well!” he replied indignantly. “If the nurse wants a light on xiaogushi8.com in the hall, she can turn it on herself.”
“原來(lái)如此!”他憤怒地說(shuō),“如果護(hù)士想開(kāi)燈的話,她完全可以自己動(dòng)手嘛?!?
