Why is fishing the writer's favourite sport?
Fishing is my favourite sport. I often fish for hours without catching anything. But this does not worry me.

2 I often fish for hours without catching anything.我經(jīng)常一釣數(shù)小時(shí)卻一無(wú)所獲。這句話(huà)中的catching也是動(dòng)名詞、它作介詞without的賓語(yǔ)。動(dòng)名詞也有動(dòng)詞的特性，它可以有自己的賓語(yǔ)。
3 After having spent whole mornings on the river，在河上呆了整整一個(gè)上午之后。由于作介詞after的賓語(yǔ)的動(dòng)名詞所表示的動(dòng)作發(fā)生在謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞go之前，因此，動(dòng)名詞要用完成形式，即having spent。
