此語(yǔ)的本義為“在拐角處，在近處”，例如： There is a restaurant just round the corner from the house.(房子不遠(yuǎn)處有一家飯館。） 其引申義為likely to happen soon(即將發(fā)生，在不遠(yuǎn)的將來(lái)），例如:Economic recovery is around the corner.(經(jīng)濟(jì)復(fù)蘇，勢(shì)在必行。）為加強(qiáng)語(yǔ)氣，可在其前加上just，同義詞組有 be about to, be on the point of.
