Ⅰ. propose “建議、提議”，是書面語，帶有正式和莊嚴(yán)的色彩。如：

Ⅱ. suggest “建議、提議”，但沒有propose正式。如：
① I suggest a visit to the theatre. 我建議去看戲。
② I suggest that we (should) begin at once. 我建議我們立即開始。
③ He suggest going to the Summer Palace. 他建議去頤和園。
