本句的主干是one thing is certain: your chances of getting the raise are less。
you feel you deserve為定語從句，修飾raise;if 引導(dǎo)條件狀語從句。
chances of doing sth.意為“做某事的機會”，chances后還可以接表語從句。如:
Chances are that they'll be late anyway.看起來，他們勢必是會遲到的。
at least意為“至少”。如:
I have to mop the kitchen floor at least once a day.我每天至少要把廚房地板擦洗一次。
ask for意為“請求;要求”。如:
I have the right to ask for an explanation.我有權(quán)要求得到一個解釋。
英語四級考點歸納:
chance一詞在表達“機會大小”時需要特別注意:
※ 表示機會大，此時的“大”不是用big表示，而是用good。如:
Doing this kind of business has a better chance of succeeding.做這種生意成功的機會比較大。
※ “機會小”在英語中有兩個在字面上截然相反的表達:a slim chance和a fat chance。
1) slim chance是一種直接表達，是平鋪直敘;而fat chance是一種間接表達，有諷刺的意味。
2) slim chance表示“機會不多”，但可能有一點;而fad chance則表示“一點兒機會都沒有”。
