Mark:What happened?
Linda:A car knocked down the roadside barrier and then run into a tree.
Mark:How come? Was the driver drunk?
Linda:No, he wasn' t.
Mark:Was he speeding then?
Linda:No.
Mark:That' s curious. Then why did he lose control of the car?
Linda:Because the truck right in front, which was loaded with large boxes, suddenlydropped a box onto the ground. Trying to avoid hitting the box, the driver turnedleft sharply, which was lucky, because there are five or six people on the side walkon the right.
Mark:Oh! That was scary. Was the driver hurt?
Linda:Yes, but not badly. Witnesses called the police and the driver was brought to the hospital. He suffered from some bruises but otherwise, he' s okay.
Mark:What a lucky escape!
Linda:Yes, it was really dangerous. And the police are still trying to find out who should be responsible for the accident.
Mark:I just hope it won' t happen again.
